Pupils of Mothercare Preparatory School in Bunamwaya, Wakiso district held their career day recently. The event began with prayers led by aspiring clergy men Timothy Lubanga (P7) and Jordan Ssenyonjo (P2). Professionals in various fields mentored the children. Children also showcased, through dressing, the careers they want to pursue.
Diana Serukenya Luboyera, the principal, emphasised that career day is held to inspire children’s dreams. She encouraged children to work hard and stay focused in order to achieve their goals.
The Nyanama assistant superintendent of Police, Afande Okello, told children that if they want to become competent police officers, they have to be disciplined and friendly to people because a police officer’s role is to serve and protect the people.
He encouraged pupils to never give up on their studies.
Doctor Ivan Ssempijja urged the pupils to study hard and listen to their teachers if they want to become great doctors. Several other professionals addressed the children.
