What Children Learnt
Trinity Nansubuga, P6
If you show interest in mathematics, it becomes easier. Mathematics is used in our daily life. I can use mathematics to find out the requirements I need. I can cook rice using mathematics. For example, I prepare half a kilogramme of rice with two cups of water.
Hope Daniel Ssemogerere, P7
Mathematics is a core subject in our education. We cannot do without it. In case you want to fence a school, you should know how large the place is, how many poles and how much barbed wire you will need.
Jacinta Esther Nabalumba, P7
Mathematics is applied in almost every bit of our lives. I can use mathematics to count people or items for proper planning.
Esther Nakasinde, P2
I learnt to like mathematics. I can use it while playing like counting the steps in our school.
Hibattie Nalubega, P6
I learnt to be confident and believe that I can excel in mathematics. I can use maths to count money and my stuff.
Maya Halima Nekesa, P7
I have learnt that both girls and boys can be good at mathematics. I can use maths to tell time.
Benaiah Kiggundu, P5
I learnt that mathematics is important in life. When I am playing football, I can count how many players I need to pass by in order to score a goal. I also make calculations to score a goal. A short distance is better, but a longer one is risky. So, I use mathematics to pass the ball to others who are near the goalpost so that they can score the goal.
Grace Nsubuga, P5
I apply mathematics if I want to know the number of jerrycans of water that we require to use at home per day and how much they will cost. Also, when I want to drink water, I apply mathematics to know the number of litres my body needs a day.
Robison Ssemugga, P2
I can use mathematics while running and dancing. For running, you need to learn the distance you will take and for dancing, you need to know the number of steps required to perfect a style.
Samuel Koba, P1
I learnt that mathematics can be used in class and at home in helping my mother clean the house and also feed our goats. I do that by knowing how many rooms I have to sweep. In order to properly feed the animals, I have to know their number and how much food they need.
Janice Esther Nabbanja, P7
We cannot avoid mathematics, so I have to pay attention in class and learn it. I want to be an accountant so I have to be good at numbers.
