English Language
Passing the English examination should not be hard to a candidate who has been reading. This does not only include classroom materials, but also story books, magazines and newspapers. When a candidate knows how to read very well, English will be easy for them to understand.
Read Instructions Carefully
A candidate should be able to read instructions carefully. This helps him or her to interpret the questions correctly. You should read the question twice or thrice so that you can answer it accordingly.
Identify Key Words
Remember to identify keywords in the questions given. For example; Give the opposite of the underlined word. “He is a tall boy”. Here the keyword is the underlined word. If the learner gives the opposite of the full sentence (She is a short girl). The answer is wrong. But the correct one is “He is a short boy.”
Punctuate Sentences Correctly
Remember to punctuate the sentences correctly. This includes putting a capital letter where need be; a full stop; a comma or an exclamation mark.
Correct Spellings
Your answers should have correct spellings. That is why it is advisable to crosscheck your spellings even if you are sure that you have the right answer. This will help you to avoid missing a letter, which might make your answer wrong hence losing marks.
Avoid Unnecessary Crossing
In case you have written a wrong answer and you want to change it, avoid unnecessary crossing and erasing. It is advisable that you get a ruler and cross out the wrong answer once and then write the right one on top.
Attempt All Questions You Have To
Endeavour to attempt all questions. Always read through one more time to make sure that you have answered every question correctly. In that way, you will be able to excel in your English examination.
