Pupils of Mbarara Municipal School not only concentrate on academics, but they also acquire skills in various disciplines.
In addition to the syllabus, Wilber Nkwasibwe, the head teacher, says the school teaches skills in tailoring, weaving and knitting, making liquid soap, baking as well as art and design.
Equiping pupils with skills enables children to be job creators.
“After skilling the pupils, the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) assesses them and awards certificates. A total of 520 were assessed this year,” he says.
