New Curriculum: Vision Group Supplies Books Worth Sh1m

Two schools recently bought Vision Group’s new curriculum textbooks worth sh1m.

These are St Lucia Learning Centre in Wabigalo, Mityana district and Kikulu Primary School and Kindergarten in Kisaasi on the outskirts of Kampala.

The books for P5-P7 cover the abridged curriculum for all four subjects, that is; mathematics, English, social studies and science.

Margaret Nabanoba, the director of St Lucia Learning Centre, lauded Vision Group for always producing high quality products and services.

“We trust Vision Group for their effort in improving the quality of education through its unique products, such as Pass PLE,” she said adding that, “The pull-out has helped our pupils to pass highly over the years. This motivated us to buy the curriculum books as well.”

Badru Ssemwanga, the head teacher of Kikulu Primary School thanked Vision Group for the initiative, adding that they are going to use the books to boost performance of their pupils.

Umar Wasswa, their director, said he has always trusted Vision Group books and because of that he anticipates better results at the end of the year.

While handing over the books, Bukedde TV’s presenter, Godfrey Kigobero, implored schools and parents to buy the books for their quality, relevance and value for money.

Secondary Schools Are Catered For

Secondary school learners have not been left out. Working with a team of expert teachers, Vision Group has also published textbooks covering the new competence-based curriculum for all major subjects for Senior One and Senior Two and these were approved by the National Curriculum Development Centre.

These books can be accessed from the New Vision head offices in Kampala, major bookshops, supermarkets and all Vision Group upcountry offices.

The books cost from sh15,000 upwards depending on the class.

New Vision also carries lessons targeting students in Senior One and Senior Two, which are published from Monday to Saturday. The eight core subjects covered include, mathematics, English, physics, chemistry, biology, Kiswahili, geography and entrepreneurship.
