Good Handwriting
A good handwriting is key for candidates to be able to pass their examinations. If a handwriting is bad, the candidate might end up losing marks even if he or she had the correct answers. Examiners have many papers to mark, so they do not have the time to try and make out what a candidate with bad handwriting was trying to say. So a candidate’s hand writing should be clear and legible.
- A candidate should also be able to write the spellings of places and people correctly. For instance, Semei Kakungulu should not be written as Semeyi Kakuguru, Sir Apollo Kaggwa (not Apolo Kagwa).
Use Various Study Materials
Besides completing the syllabus, the child should make use of the current text books and other study materials such as workbooks, Bukedde newspaper Pass PLE questions, so that they exhaust every topic and how to write their answers.
Update Your Knowledge
Since Social studies is a changing subject, so the candidate should be willing to unlearn the old things and endeavour to learn new things. He or she should, for instance, know the current speaker of Parliament is Anita Among and the former was Jacob Oulanya . In other words, the child should regularly update his or her knowledge with current affairs
Avoid Spotting
There are some pupils who do spot revision. For instance, they choose a few topics and concentrate on them. However, a candidate who wants to pass social studies should revise their books right from lower primary topics to Primary Seven. This will enable a candidate to be more confident.
