Teachers Laud Gov’t On New Curriculum

Secondary school teachers from Wakiso district have commended the Government for introducing the new lower O’level curriculum saying it addresses the country’s challenges.

According to teachers, the practical section of the new curriculum prepares learners for a competitive and innovative future.

Patriotism patron at St John’s Secondary School Leonard Nsubuga said the new curriculum has led to student-centred innovations which will spur economic transformation of the country.

He added that teachers ought to aid learners to make good use of the curriculum to enhance their skills for future use.

“The Government has done its job well, and it is, therefore, upon us to ensure learners benefit,” Nsubuga said.

Nsubuga was speaking during the closure of the one-week patriotism training organised for school and college heads at Shimoni Primary Teachers’ College in Kira, Kampala on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Sharpen skills

According to the minister of science, technology and innovations, Dr Monica Musenero, students need to embrace the curriculum to sharpen their skills to fit in a competitive world.
