The Vice-President, Rtd Maj. Jessica Alupo, was Thursday installed as the third chancellor of St. Lawrence University (SLAU).
She became the first female to serve in that position at the university.
At the university’s helm, Alupo replaces a man in whose shoes she also stepped in as Uganda’s Vice-President, Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, after his tenure expired. As new chancellor, Alupo hit the ground running by presiding over SLAU’s 13th graduation ceremony, held on Thursday at the university’s campus in Lubaga, Kampala.
