Snow is formed when temperatures are extremely low and there is moisture in the atmosphere in the form of tiny ice crystals. When the crystals stick together, they become heavy enough to fall on the ground as snow. Snow is commonly found in temperate countries in Europe and North America. In Africa, it is found on some mountains in South Africa and Lesotho. Snow is also found on Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and on Mount Kenya.
