Integrated Science

Research

Science is a subject that requires a candidate to do research. Candidates should be careful not to rush and answer questions, but rather interpret them very well.

  • Incomplete Answers

Many candidates write incomplete answers. For example: “How is a canine tooth adapted to its function?” If your response is: “It is sharp pointed”, and you stop there, that is wrong. You have to write the characteristic and then follow it with the function. For example, you say, “It is sharp pointed for tearing food.”

Clear And Neat Handwriting

Candidates should have letter formations that are very clear and with no untidiness. This is to ensure that the answers are easily read by the examiner in order to avoid loss of marks.

Answers Should Be Specific

The answer should also not be general, but it should be specific for example: “What is the importance of planting legumes in a plant rotation cycle?” You have to be particular and write: “They fix nitrogen into the soil”. Some learners might write: “They make the soil fertile”. This is very general because there are very many practices that make the soil fertile.
