“Diastole” and “systole” are scientific terms related to the circulatory system. In simple words, the two words respectively mean contraction and relaxation of the heart as it pumps blood through the vessels to all parts of the body. “Systole” occurs when the heart contracts to pump blood out and “systole” occurs when the heart relaxes.
