Why We Should Brush Our Teeth After Eating Food
When it is almost 8:00pm, it is bedtime for children. However, before we go to bed, we must brush our teeth. Do you want to know why we must brush our teeth before going to bed? Here is why.
We brush our teeth after every meal and before bed to keep them healthy. If we do not keep teeth healthy, we will not be able to eat our favourite snacks and foods.
- Our teeth are made up of several layers. The white part that you bite is known as the enamel.
- So, in order to protect our teeth, we must brush them after eating and before going to bed, because not all food is swallowed when we eat.
- Food that remains in the mouth can harm your teeth. If we do not brush our teeth after eating, holes called “cavities” can form in our teeth, causing a bad odor and a lot of pain when we eat.
- The good news is that when we brush our teeth after eating food, before we sleep and when we wake up, we can keep our teeth healthy and cavity-free.
How To Brush
- Make sure you brush both the left and right sides of your teeth and all the way down to the bottom of the teeth, all the way to the back.
- After brushing the teeth on both sides and the bottom, open your mouth wide and brush the inside of the front, bottom and back teeth. Do this in circular movements.
- Brush the chewing surfaces of the teeth in back and forth motion. Remember to brush your tongue. Brush your teeth twice a day. If you run out of toothpaste, you can use salt.
